Testo  della canzone

In the abyss of the sea, where Poseidon reigns, Polyphemus was born, son of a god who binds, and of Thoosa, a nymph of a thousand colors, but he did not bring her beauty of flowers.
Very tall, massive, with skin of fire,
only one eye, a destiny of little value.
The body covered with thick red hair,
among mountains and caves he lived in his thick,
tangled hair like roots in the earth,
a giant that the world looked at without war.
But when strangers carne to his land,
his hunger far flesh was the only thing that war.
With a horrible smile, and a heart of stone,
he devoured everyone, without fear or pity.
lt was the cycle of his world, made of cheese and milk,
sheep grazing,as if nothing was happening.
But the restlessness grew, the loneliness assailed him,
a giant in the darkness, his soul became more and more diva. Then Ulysses arrived, and everything changed,
with deceit and cunning the end carne.
Polyphemus cried out, his eye wounded,
the anger changed him, but he was never defeated.
The sea called him, but the island remained,
a giant who transfarmed himself in the myth.
Today, Polyphemus walks among the modem fags,
among the tall skyscrapers, and the hellish streets.
His hunger is no longer far meat and milk,
but far broken dreams and beating hearts.
The eye that burned now reflects the world,
a single glance, deep, without a ring-a-ring.
And yet something in him has remained unchanged,
a monster who does not know whether to be loved.
From Poseidon he inherited the sea and solitude,
from Thoosa the beauty of a heart in which there is no peace.
He walks silently through the crowd,
Polyphemus today is only an echo of pain.
Amid the crowded alleys, and the city lights,
the eye becomes a reflection of reality.
No longer a devourer, no longer guilty,
but a giant who tries not to be invisible.
With his heart beating far those who do not see him,
Polyphemus asks himself: “What does he believe in?”
The stars are his roof, the moon his companion,
and among the clouds he walks, alone, his mountain.
No longer on the island lost between sea and wind,
but among the streets where he finds his torment.
The myth changes shape, and Polyphemus changes face,
he searches far his piace, but with every step he has a further slip.
The earth has evolved, the sea has calmed,
but Polyphemus’ eye is still fierce and unleashed.
He has stopped eating meat, but the hunger has remained, not far faod, but far peace, and far a life that is vast.
A single eye, but a thousand dreams,
Polyphemus walks among the shadows, and dreams.
